Meet our teachers

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
LOLAs Early Care and Education Center

Mrs. Meghan Strawcutter, M.Ed.

Meghan earned her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Child and Family Studies. She continued her studies at Carlow University earning her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and PA Teacher Certification. Meghan has also obtained certification in Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) as a Professional Development Instructor. Meghan's most recent experience includes instructing undergraduate students at Westmoreland County Community College (2014 - Present) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2012 - 2015). She has over fifteen years of professional experience in various child care settings, including six years as a teacher in a star four, NAEYC accredited early learning center.

​Stephanie Daugherty, M.S.

Stephanie has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She has a variety of experiences working with young children including teaching in a preschool setting as well as in a toddler classroom. Stephanie creates a nurturing environment where each infants individual needs are met in a caring way.

​​Taylor Clawson, B.S.

Taylor has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She has experience as an Assistant Preschool and Young Toddler Teacher. She thrives in understanding each child's individual needs and in preparing lessons allowing them to advance in their abilities. ​

BETHLEHEM CLASSROOM
Older Toddlers Lead Teacher
Jaimie Rising

Jaimie is working towards her associates degree in Early Childhood Education at the Westmoreland County Community College. She previously attended IUP for her bachelors degree in Public Relations and English (Summa Cum Laude). She is a mother of four and grandmother of eight. Jaimie brings to the classroom a calming and nurturing presence. Our infants are well cared for in the educational and soothing environment Jaimie creates.  ​

EDEN CLASSROOM 
Full-Day 3/4 Year-Old Preschool Lead Teacher

Melanie Zolocsik, B.S.

Melanie Zolocsik has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Melanie has experience working with children as a kindergarten readiness leader, summer camp counselor and youth gymnastics coach. Melanie works hard to present the children with a consistent routine to build the necessary social/emotional and developmental skills to advance to the four/five year old classroom. 

JERUSALEM CLASSROOM 
Full-Day 4/5 Year-Old Preschool Lead Teacher
Katlin Anderson,
B.S.

Katlin (Katie) Anderson has a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Family Relations. Katie has a creative energy. She works with the children on an individual basis.  She presents new and challenging experiences to allow them to advance both socially and educationally. Katie is a life-long learner, she's always studying the newest research and brining those concepts into the classroom to help the children have the best experience possible. 

JERUSALEM CLASSROOM 
Part-Day Preschool Lead Teacher
Meghan Strawcutter, M.Ed

Meghan Strawcutter serves as both our Executive Director and part-day preschool teacher. She has 15+ years of experience working with young children in a variety of settings. Part-Day preschool is the perfect experience for young children who are preparing for kindergarten. Enrollment begins in April, school begins in August!

GALILLE CLASSROOM 
School-Age Lead Teacher

Janis Howard, M.A.

Janis earned her Bachelor's Degree in English with high distinction from George Mason university in Fairfax, Virginia. She then went on to earn her Masters in English with a Teaching Certificate from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her previous experiences include study hall supervisor at United High School, communication skills specialist at the Indiana Junior High School, and substitute teaching at Homer Center Elementary. Janis creates an academically appropriate and fun environment for the school-age crew.
